Currumbin Pines ELC, which is privately owned by Ross White and Jenny Balson, is a family orientated centre.  Very much a part of the local community.  Our owners live in the area.  Jenny’s children were born here 35 years ago.  Our admin team have been part of the local community for the past 20+ years.

We live in a unique part of the Gold Coast … largely between the rivers.  With the country close by.  As such we believe our connection to the natural environment is strong.  We will be teaching the children in our care to respect the beauty around them.  To look after their surroundings.  To respect and care for each other.

Our staff have been very carefully selected.  Luckily almost all have been sourced from the local area.  Within their ranks we have four with degrees in Education or Psychology.  All others have qualifications ranging from an Advanced Diploma to a Certificate III in Child Care.  But, most importantly, all are equally passionate about our role in helping in the development of children in our care.

Lastly, we emphasise our commitment to the Reggio Emilio approach to the care of children.  In a nutshell this can be described as:-

“an innovative and inspiring approach to early childhood education which values the child as strong, capable and resilient; rich with wonder and knowledge. Every child brings with them deep curiosity and potential and this innate curiosity drives their interest to understand their world and their place within it”.
